It produces selfishness
Over the last few years, I worried about everyone else’s happiness before my own. I worried about my grandmother, my mother, my father, and my husband. I thought that I needed to stay in Florida to be close to my family. Some issues popped up many years ago and my family pretty much stepped out of my life. They didn’t call me or anything and it had me thinking, why am I always concerned about everyone else. I became interested in the Law of Attraction and it taught me one thing. You have to love yourself. You are the only one living your life. Although it is important to care about others and serve the world in some way, it is also important to love yourself. Traveling can help you step into your power and be more selfish. Where do you want to go? What do you want to eat? How do you want to travel?
It shows your true desires
When you step away from the norm and experience different ethnicities, traditions, beliefs, etc. it opens you up to a broader way of thinking. It makes you appreciate what you have. It can really show you what is important to you. When I was in Belize our driver told me how much he loves American shoes, but they are so hard to get there. He said lots of people in Belize wear shoes that are falling apart. It really made me appreciate having multiple pairs of shoes. We drove through an area where the homes were only partially built. We were told that people in that area of Belize could not afford to build their house all at once, so they build their houses over time. Seeing this made me appreciate the ability to have a mortgage and a fully built home with the luxury to pay it off over 30 years.
Traveling can turn you into a new person, or it can help you see who you have always been.
Do what you want
So many people believe that they can’t do what they want, they can’t follow their dreams. Believe you can follow your dreams. I built this blog little by little and I built my other company Health Manifested one post at a time. If you really want to travel, create a way forward. We only live this life once so we might as well enjoy it. I wanted to create this blog for 7 years before I actually did. I am so thankful. It has created a life that is very liberating.
Loved ones become more precious
When I travel I am actually closer to my family. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. I have really fun things to talk about with my loved ones. When I come back from a big trip I am always greeted with open arms and a loving heart. It also creates a lot of goodbyes or I like to call them “see ya later.”
no perfect lifestyle
I thought I wanted to be famous, and I reach thousands upon thousands of people on a daily basis, and I thought that would make me happy. I thought traveling would be a perfect life. Although I enjoy inspiring people, teaching and helping others, there is no perfect life. Owning multiple blog sites takes a lot of work. One really important thing is that you always follow your bliss. As long as you are doing what you love, you’ll have great potential for happiness.
Home
When you travel a lot, home is where the heart is. When I am “traveling” and I am out and about for the day, I catch myself saying, let’s go “home.” I have had so many people look at me funny over the years, but home is where my suitcase is, home is where I lay my head at night, and home is where your heart is. You can also fall in love with so many places through your travels that you don’t know where you want to call home or where you want to “stay.”
Blend in
It is important to be open to change. Everywhere you go, there will be new restaurants, new places to see, new people to meet, and different ways of doing things. It is important to go with the flow and blend in.
Change
Traveling will change you forever. You will be the same person, but it will open you up to new possibilities, new ways of doing things and a whole new perspective.
